Japanese Golfer Wins US Tournament

Golf and Japan’s Shigeki Maruyama has recorded his first ever victory on the US PGA tour after coming through a playoff to win the Greater Milwaukee Open in Wisconsin. Having blown his chance of an outright victory on the 18th green, Maruyama sank this short putt on the first play-off hole to beat Charles Howell III of America. Maruyama who had won nine tournaments in his native land, landed the biggest prize of his career when he picked up the winner’s check for $558,000.
