It was a lack of opportunity at home that brought Asia's high-tech elite to Silicon Valley, but because of the changing nature of the global economy, the brain drain from places like Mainland China, Taiwan and India, has shifted into a brain circulation. As Asia's best and brightest return home. Today co-ed Frisbee, tomorrow the world. But for Stanford senior Sherman Li, all eyes are on Asia.

Sometimes it's an extension of the Silicon Valley model. So Silicon Valley benefits from access to lower cost talent. On the other hand, these other countries benefit as well. They not only get the infusion of skill and capital directly, but also this sets them on a process of upgrading their own capabilities.

But with the return of Taiwanese professionals who helped build the Valley, the island transformed into an IT powerhouse. Sherman Li is not quite ready for a permanent move to China, but his heritage has turned into a business assess he refuses to ignore.
