The US economy is registering weak but positive economic growth
The U.S. economy has been struggling since the beginning of the year, with growth declining from the more robust level of 2007. 

VOA's economics correspondent Barry Wood reports that hard-pressed American consumers have received a boost recently from a steep decline in oil prices.
