Trev talks to the cop
Trev: I hope they'll forgive me now that we got everything back.
Cop: They still seem pretty mad.
Trev: Yeah, I know. I really blew it this time.
Cop: You should be more careful ’bout who you talk to. It's a dog-eat-dog world out there.
Trev: I figured that one out the hard way.
Cop: Give your friends some time. I think they'll get over it.
Trev: This has been one good lesson.
Cop: Time for another lesson. You still have a speeding ticket to pay.

The F.B.I. regularly makes up a list of the nation's ten worst criminals. This list, called the "Ten Most Wanted." is posted as widely as possible. Pictures of the wanted men and women appear in post offices, newspapers, and police stations. Publicity helps the police to track down people on the list. Once a face becomes widely known it is difficult for the criminal to hide.

Time for elevenses.

对话
Gemma: I haven't started work so early in weeks.
Meryl: Yes, it's only a quarter to ten and we've been at it for almost four hours.
Gemma: Time for elevenses before we die of hunger and thirst.
Meryl: Great idea. I'll pop out and get some doughnuts.
Gemma: And I'll put the kettle on.
Meryl: Oh yes, I'm just dying for a cup of tea.

Elevenses。 (1) We had elevenses at a small village(我们在一个小村庄吃上午茶)。(2) We never discuss business during office elevenses(我们在办公室吃上午茶时,从来不谈公事)。 I'll pop out and get some doughnuts。 (1) He's popped out for a moment(他出去了,不久就回来)。(2) I popped into the pub for a drink on my way home(我回家时,顺道走进酒馆喝一杯)。留意We've been at it for almost four hours的at字。 (1) The two countries were then at war(当时两国在交战)。(2) I saw them at work/at play/at lunch(我看见他们在工作/在游玩/在吃午餐)。Be at it的it,可以泛指工作,不必明言是什么工作,例如:He was at it the whole day(他整天在工作)。 She is fond of gambling, and is at it again(她嗜赌,现在又在赌博)。What are you at? I saw them working/playing/having lunch和What are you doing?等。
